The Cavs keep getting worse and worse while the rest of the NBA gets better?
Really? I am so tired of all the B.S. from the national media.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10484377.post-16476919558272516212008-02-19T20:05:00.000-05:002008-02-19T20:05:00.000-05:00And one more thing: Even if LeBron signed a 20-yea...And one more thing: Even if LeBron signed a 20-year extension with the Cavs, this kind of talk would never totally die. The Cavs would always be one protracted slump away from media speculation that LeBron might demand a trade.

So what I'm saying is, we'd better just learn to live with this for as long as LeBron is wearing wine and gold. It's better to have to deal with this than deal with a bottom-feeding basketball team.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10484377.post-48941608317502607902008-02-19T19:59:00.000-05:002008-02-19T19:59:00.000-05:00I think part of the deal is that most of the guys ...I think part of the deal is that most of the guys Ben quoted in the post don't write for Cleveland audiences (Gary obviously excluded). They write for national and/or big market audiences.

As I've said before "LeBron James is perfectly happy in Cleveland" doesn't get people in New York reading. "LeBron stews while Nets clear cap room" gets people in New York reading.

Of course these guys are going to take every chance they can get to stoke the "LeBron is unhappy" fires. It's the same thing as when Tony Grossi writes about free agents the Browns might target, except it's times about a thousand in terms of magnitude, and it hits us Clevelanders right in our championship-deprived solar plexus, and repeatedly.

As for the oft-answered question of why D-Wade, Melo and Bosh don't get the same treatment? Simple: Those guys aren't LeBron. Anybody who tries to put those guys (fine players that they are) into LeBron's class is just blowing smoke. There is only one LBJ, and that's why the big markets want to get their sweaty palms on him so badly.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10484377.post-75491131075846983922008-02-19T19:43:00.000-05:002008-02-19T19:43:00.000-05:00Most of these guys don't cover the Cavs or are mor...Most of these guys don't cover the Cavs or are more tuned into to other Cleveland sports (sorry, Gary).

I think Windhorst's sentiment that LeBron might stay or he might leave, but he'll give Cleveland every chance to put a better team around.

Call it rumor mongering, penis envy, uninformed reporting, or whatever. The bottom line is these guys generally don't know what they're writing about.

It is sad though that Cleveland fans have to read about these constant rumors and have it shoved in their face.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
