His progress in the clutch -- consistent in the second half of the season -- is, like many things, something the Elias Sports Bureau tracks.
According to Elias figures, eight times this season, James has scored to give his team the final lead in the fourth quarter or overtime, as he did in Sunday's victory in Houston. That ties him for second in the NBA with the Mavericks' Dirk Notwitzki and the Lakers' Kobe Bryant.
The Celtics' Paul Pierce leads the league with nine.
