The fullback based offense is no more.

Channel 3's Jim Donovan (also the radio voice of the Browns) just reported on the 11 o'clock news that Browns OC Maurice Carthon is fired.

The only bad thing about this is, who takes over? Anyone, or is Crennel going to assume playcalling duties in the grand Bill Belichick/Marty Schottenheimer tradition of "Defensive Coaches Who Think They Can Run an Offense."

Maybe a team techie can wire a laptop to ramdomly generate offensive plays.

I'd love to click on the team page on Browns.com and see:

"Head Coach: Romeo Crennel

Defensive Coordinator: Todd Grantham

Offensive Coordinator: Compaq Presario Notebook JG-250 with Intel Dual-Core Celeron processor."

Seriously, a computer isn't a bad choice.

Also, good call on waiting to do this until after the bye week. Instead of having two complete weeks with a new guy, they decided to wait until after the Denver game. Like just to make sure he sucks.

The sad thing is, many Browns fans knew what the game on Sunday was going to look like before we even watched it. Is there a Browns fan out there who was surprised by Sunday's result?
